Phenotype

The phenotype is the physical expression of a plant’s genetic composition (genotype).

Genetics and environment influence the way the cannabis plant grows. The genotype defines the plant’s type of growth, but the environment influences the characteristic of expression and domination. Therefore, the phenotype is the physical trait the environment allows the plant to express. It illustrates the plant’s genetic blueprint, leading to its color, shape, size, smell, and other properties.

The term “phenotype” or “pheno” describes a plant’s observable characteristics influenced by genetics and its environment. The formula for phenotypes is the genotype, the environment, and the interaction between the two. Not all cannabis plants with the same genotype have identical phenotypes, and not all plants with the same phenotypes have the same genotype.

Cannabis plants with various phenotypes are considered significant assets since their diversity offers options for aromas and flavors and different effects.
