MD General Assembly Set Rules for Recreational Cannabis Sales

MARYLAND – The 2023 Maryland General Assembly established the rules for recreational cannabis sales which begin on July 1.

According to WTOP NEWS, the General Assembly met Saturday and determined all the rules and regulations for the state regarding recreational cannabis which voters passed on the November ballot.

This bill requires all dispensaries to prioritize medicinal cannabis users and ensure they always have a specific amount of products available for them.

Additionally, this bill sets how close dispensaries are allowed to be to schools, playgrounds, parks, and other dispensaries.

Finally, according to the bill recreational users will be charged a 9% tax.
