WA Bill Banning Pre-Employment Cannabis Tests Passes House, Moves to Senate

The Washington House of Representative passed a bill on Wednesday that will ban pre-employment cannabis tests throughout the state.

According to KOIN6, the bill will now move to the Senate and if approved there will go to the Governor to sign into law. If made a law, Washington will be the third state to ban pre-employment cannabis tests.

In 2012, the state legalized adult-use cannabis but employers kept the right to screen for cannabis in hiring processes. This bill will change that and allow for less discrimination among cannabis users looking for work.
