Texas Bill Expanding Medicinal Marijuana Program Needs Senates Approval

AUSTIN, TX – House approved HB 1805 that expands the state’s medicinal marijuana program to cover residents with chronic pain and redefines the low-THC cannabis definition to 10 milligrams.

According to KXAN, the bill will now move to Senate for a vote and if approved will then be signed into law by the Governor and go into effect on September 1.

The bill is meant to include those suffering from chronic pain as eligible for the medicinal marijuana program. This means they will be eligible for a prescription from their doctor for 10-milligram dosage of cannabis.
