Big Freedia Launches Royal Bud Cannabis Line in LA

New Orleans musician and celebrity Big Freedia has announced a personal line of cannabis products launching today in Los Angeles.

According to AfroTech, Big Freedia’s Royal Bud line is being released at the Los Angeles dispensary Green Qween. As noted on their website, the mission of this BIPOC-owned dispensary is “To reclaim and sustain foundational, equitable, and authentic representation in cannabis for all communities.”

The launch will include three strains: “Release Ya Wiggle,” “You Already Know,” and “Mardi Gras.” Big Freedia told fans on Instagram that she hopes to release the products to additional storefronts in the future.

Following the August 22^nd launch, Big Freedia will make an in-store appearance on Friday, August 26^th, and she’ll perform a 30-minute set on August 28^th at the 2022 DTLA PROUD Festival.

Big Freedia’s entry into the cannabis industry follows on the heels of another recent success. Beyonce sampled Big Freedia’s music in her recently released hit song “Break My Soul.”
