25 Retail Cannabis Stores Approved by City of Albuquerque

ALBQUERQUE, NM – The City of Albuquerque started approving applications for retail cannabis stores in the area this week.

According to a report by KOB, the city received 35 applications within the first three weeks of launching their Cannabis Retail Location Approval website. Since the city’s planning department began processing applications, 25 retail locations were approved.

So far, only two locations were denied by the planning department. There are a number of reasons why an application could be denied such as, failing to obtain a state-issued cannabis retail license, not completing the application, or violating the Integrated Development Ordinance’s separation and zoning requirements.

The city also put out a Cannabis Retail Location Approvals Map, which shows the approved locations, those that remain under review, and those that were denied.
