Infused Jalapeno Nacho Cheese Recipe

Usually, the jalapenos will deliver the kick in this recipe, but including infused butter will also offer a powerful punch. If you have the ingredients and infused butter ready, you can whip up this sauce in less than a half-hour!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp infused butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 79 ml minced onion
  • 79 ml minced jalapeno (you can add more or less)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 473 ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 454 g shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Mince the onion, jalapenos, and garlic.
  • Add plainthe infused butter to a saucepan and warm at medium-low heat.
  • Add onion, garlic, jalapeno, and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir flour into the onion, garlic, and jalapeno mixture until all veggies are evenly coated.
  • Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens slightly.
  • Add the infused butter and stir until melted.
  • Add the cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth. This should take about 15 minutes.
  • When you are ready to serve, pour over corn chips.

Notes

In addition to the delicious flavors and health benefits, you can customize the recipe. You can include additional spices and ingredients in your sauce, like green chiles or extra cumin.
If you are worried the jalapenos will be overwhelming, you can always serve them on the side instead of minced and blended into the sauce. Be mindful that cooking ingredients work best in certain ratios for the best consistency and taste. Don’t use too much butter, or you may have trouble achieving the desired cheese consistency and texture. This texture should not be lumpy, too thin, or too thick.
